Richard S. Calone received his BS in accounting at the University of Notre Dame du Lac in 1968. He then received his legal education at the University of Santa Clara in 1971, and was admitted to the California State Bar in 1972. Mr. Calone received his MBA in Taxation from Golden Gate University in 1974, and has been certified as a specialist in taxation law by California State Bar Board of Legal Specialization. He has practiced as a tax attorney in the Stockton area since May 4, 1974, after spending more than two years with the Internal Revenue Service as an Estate Tax Attorney. Mr. Calone was also a Commissioned Officer, USAR, AR in 1968 and resigned as a Captain in 1976.
Mr. Calone began his career in Stockton with the law firm of Brown, Lane, Calone & Duncan. He has continually specialized in taxation for the individual taxpayers and their wealth accumulation entities.
Jason W. Harrel, is a Partner practicing law with the Calone & Harrel Law Group, LLP, since May 1997. Mr. Harrel obtained his B.A. from the University of Arizona and his Juris Doctor degree from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan. Mr. Harrel obtained his Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in taxation from Golden Gate University School of Law. Mr. Harrel subsequently received a Certificate of Specialization in Taxation Law from the California State Bar Board of Legal Specialization.
Mr. Harrel concentrates his practice in all manners of taxation (income, non-profit, sales, audit, collection and criminal), real estate transactions, tax deferred exchanges, corporate, partnership and limited liability company law matters.
As a frequent columnist and contributor to the Central Valley Business Journal, Mr. Harrel writes articles on various tax and business related subjects.
Ann K. Craig has been an Associate with Calone & Harrel Law Group, LLP, since February 2013.
Ms. Craig is certified as a Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law by the California State Bar Board of Legal Specialization, and has a substantial business background, as well as extensive legal experience and education. She has worked in the field of Probates, Estates, and Trusts since 2004. She is licensed to practice law in California and is a member of the Trust and Estates section of the California State Bar.
Ms. Craig holds Masters of Law (LL.M.) from Golden Gate University School of Law in both Federal Tax Law, and in Trust and Probate Law. She has also been a featured speaker at continuing education seminars on a variety of topics.
With a practice concentrated in the areas of Estate Planning (including advanced Estate Tax, Gift Tax, and Generation Skipping Transfer Tax planning, and Business Organization and Succession planning); and Probate Matters (including Estate and Trust Administration and related Litigation and Tax Matters), Ms. Craig is able to offer her clients a broad range of interrelated services.
Keith R. Wood is an Associate Attorney practicing law with the Calone & Harrel Law Group, LLP, since June 2014. Mr. Wood obtained his B.A. from the University of California at Riverside and received his J.D. from Western State College of Law in 2010. Mr. Wood graduated from law school second in his class and was awarded the Dean Maryann Jones Achievement and Leadership Award, recognizing outstanding service and superior academic achievement.
Following law school, Mr. Wood worked as an associate attorney for the largest consumer bankruptcy law firm in the country and brings extensive knowledge of Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 consumer bankruptcies.
Mr. Wood concentrates his practice on consumer and business bankruptcies, representing individuals against IRS and FTB collections, business law (including collection of outstanding receivables), and civil litigation.
Darren J. Pluth is an Associate Attorney practicing law with Calone & Harrel Law Group, LLP, since June 2014. He has worked in the area of Tax Controversy since 2009 and is licensed to practice law in California. Mr. Pluth earned his LL.M (Master of Laws) in Taxation, from the University of Washington School of Law. He received his J.D. degree from Golden Gate University School of Law of San Francisco, and his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from San Jose State University.
